Classlist is the data-secure platform chosen by CIPL in order to replace WhatsApp class groups that are NOT compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), exposing your phone number to all participants, and not allowing admins to process SARs. (Subject Access Requests)
Classlist is the platform that is most used in the UK by parents associations, and offers all the security guarantees and the highest level of data protection policies in place

CIPL remains at any time the Data Controller within Classlist, controlling access to your data, while Classlist is our chosen Data Processor, who stores them and provides the platform on which we can contact you.
If you consented to the school sharing your contact data with parents' associations I(by ticking the corresponding box at the start of the school year), then we have been able to send you a direct invite to activate your account.

Communications from Classlist are clearly identified as such and feature the CIPL logo, as the organisation behind it, until it becomes the standard and the APL chooses to join.

This data is used according to the Legitimate Purpose described in the GDPR

Each communication received includes, in accordance with current laws, an unsubscribe link located at the bottom of the page. This link allows you to exercise your right to deletion.
You can also configure Classlist to receive no emails and simply access the application to view the information.

CIPL is committed to protecting parents' personal data. As of the publication date of this article, it is, in fact, the only parent association of the Lycée duly registered with the ICO. True to its obligations, it has therefore chosen a tool compliant with GDPR.

The Classlist platform is not authorised to use personal data for any purposes other than operating the platform for the parents of the Lycée.
