About CIPL

CIPL is the Independent Collective of Parents of the Lycée français Charles de Gaulle in London. Founded in June 2025, it is a new parents’ association that is truly for the parents, of the parents and by the parents.

CIPL was created to better represent parents’ concerns and requests to LFCG’s governing forums and management. By doing so, we hope to improve the experience of all children who attend LFCG, and their parents.

CIPL is independent. This means it does not take its instructions from any particular body – the school, its management, AEFE, various diplomats, etc. It takes its instructions solely from parents, and based on its high standards of transparency and governance.

CIPL is a collective. This means that although we have a governance structure, any member of CIPL is free to initiate a valid action and then follow through on it. Members of CIPL are assured of the full support of CIPL for their initiatives as long as these are in line with CIPL’s constitution and UK law.

CIPL is of the parents of LFCG. This means that we exist solely because of the parents of LFCG – serving you, your children, and your collective interests is our primary reason for existence.

CIPL is a member of UNAPE. After reviewing the various federations of parents’ associations, we felt that UNAPE was the one most closely aligned with our values and mission, and best placed to represent us to the AEFE and its Board of Directors.

We welcome your engagement in CIPL. Email us at contact@cipl.org.uk to explore ways in which you can contribute to our mission.
