The Independent Parents’ Collective of the Lycée (CIPL) is a UK-registered association of parents of students at the Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle in London. As such, we are required to collect and process certain personal data as part of our association and representation activities.

2. What data are we collecting?

We collect only the data strictly necessary for our mission:

  • Identity: last name, first name
  • Contact details: email address
  • School information: children's class and school
  • Participation data: availability, proposed skills, ideas, contributions

3. For what purpose?

Your data is collected to:

  • Manage membership and participation in the association 
  • Communicate with you (emails, important information) 
  • Organize working groups and association events 
  • Gather your ideas and suggestions to improve school life 
  • Maintain our database of parents involved in the life of the school

4. On what legal grounds?

The processing of your data is based on your explicit consent, in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR. This consent is obtained when you fill out the form.

5. Who can access your data?

Your data is processed only by authorized members of the CIPL Committee.

It is never sold, transferred, or shared with third parties, partners, or external institutions without your explicit consent.

6. How long are we keeping your data for?

Your data is retained for a maximum of 2 years after your last contact with the association. You may request its deletion at any time.

7. What are your rights?

In accordance with the GDPR, you have the following rights:

  • Right of access to your data 
  • Right to rectification if it is inaccurate or incomplete 
  • Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”) 
  • Right to object to or restrict processing 
  • Right to withdraw your consent 
  • Right to data portability (to obtain your data in a structured format)

8. Security of your data

Your data is stored on secure tools, accessible only by authorized members of the association. Technical and organizational measures are implemented to ensure their confidentiality and integrity.

The legal basis for processing personal data in this context is Article 6(1)(c) of the GDPR and Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the management of cookies and similar technologies used, as well as the associated consents.

Providing personal data is neither contractually required nor necessary for entering into a contract. You are not obliged to provide this personal data. However, without this data, we will not be able to manage your consents.
